In 2013, the NYS Senate amended a 2008 vehicle and traffic law requiring motor vehicles to be cleared of accumulated snow, sleet, hail, or face the consequences with a ticket and a hefty fine. That means even the hard to reach spots on your roof or in the bed of a pickup truck.
From an insurance perspective, failing to properly clean off your car, and, in the unfortunate circumstance where snow or ice from your vehicle causes property damage (or worse), you assume full legal liability. Garrett shares a short personal story and explains it all in Episode 18.
