As drivers, we face all sorts of risks and exposures: animals, road conditions, reckless drivers, distracted drivers, and even sheer bad luck.

While some risks are easier to counteract than others, the very model car we own is itself a risk!

A new report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) identified the 10 most stolen vehicles in America. The report examined vehicle theft data submitted by law enforcement to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and determined the vehicle make, model, and model year most reported stolen in 2016.

Surprisingly, older models are more popular among thieves and tend to be at greater risk. With that, here is the list of the 10 most stolen vehicles in America:


2000 Jeep Cherokee

According to the report, thousands of vehicles are stolen each year because owners leave their keys or fobs in the unlocked car or truck.
